The pillars of Howl: Whispers towards the moon date back to 2018, when I wrote a collection of poems in Catalan entitled Remots mars de mots (Remote seas of words). It is a composition of 35 poems grouped by theme in 3 sections, whose English translations are High sea storms and other learnings, Raised the sails and Anchorage. Respectively, they focus on the lessons learnt from failures, the pleasure of embarking on new paths, and the wonder of reaching beautiful destinations.
It was in December of last year when I decided to create this blog to publish some of these poems already written, even if it was only from time to time. Regarding poetry, what I considered to be very valuable at that time was that all the verses of the same poem had the same number of syllables, and that their rhyme was consonant. For this reason, this would not only be the essence of the poems in Catalan, but also of the poems in English that I would venture to first write with Reincarnation. The same would happen with Gedicht des Deutschlernens in German.
Then March came along with the confinement, and in April, at the same time that I was attending online classes at the university, I started writing a poem every day, which helped me to make the quarantine much more bearable. I have to confess that I never thought that in such a short time I would write so many poems, of which I would feel proud both to shape my emotions and to improve my knowledge of these two foreign languages.
For the moment, I am working and soon the new course at the university will start. Besides, I do not feel as inspired as in the last months to keep writing so often, so this blog is now taking a slower pace of publication. Still, I am immensely grateful for all the support, nominations for blogger awards, and the non-profit content that so many artists make available to their readers. I look forward to reading your upcoming publications to the wonderful WordPress community.
See you soon, and happy writing to everybody!
